I'll stamp all over 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the pair met personally to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.
Former twice world title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Mindset
"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Opponent
Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's Background
Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
However, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's greatest financial successes, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.
"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters participated in the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is really going ahead.
