'People are afraid' - why 'juggernaut' Arsenal are the side to defeat.

There's no doubt why Arsenal stand as many people's favorites to secure the Premier League in the current campaign.

Examine their performances against West Ham and Crystal Palace in contrast with those same matches in the previous campaign.

The Gunners have beaten all of them this time around, but surrendered 10 points across those games as they dropped off in the title race in the prior campaign.

Impenetrable Rearguard

Arsenal's backline resilience is a crucial element why they are seeming ready to finally fulfil their title target.

They rank top for unbreached games (6), shots let in (3), shots faced (72), quality opportunities against (19) and xGA (5.3).

The central defensive pairing of Gabriel and William Saliba is arguably the best in the league, with Arsenal maintaining a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Set-Piece Expertise

Their threat from set-pieces is well known, but rival sides still struggle to neutralize the Gunners from these chances.

They have scored 11 times from set-pieces in the league, a couple extra than any other side, with 69% of their goals coming from these situations.

"Arsenal can excel in various aspects now. The whole team has a daunting aura. People are just afraid of them and it is great to see."

Championship Credentials

What is even more impressive about Arsenal's commencement to the campaign is they have also encountered Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United away from home and Manchester City in their own stadium - and are still four points clear at the top.

While they continue triumphing, their long-standing opponents face difficulties. This marks the premier instance at this juncture of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The scrutiny was on boss Mikel Arteta at the start, having spent around £250m on eight summer acquisitions in pursuit of that elusive first title since 2004.

But the business has so far yielded results in impressive fashion, with his side second top scorers in the league and having the tightest defense, despite multiple injuries.

  • Clean sheets in three consecutive Premier League games
  • 385 minutes without allowing a goal
  • Only a handful of concessions in 12 games across every tournament

Former players and experts have described Arteta's men as a "powerhouse, looking hard to stop" with the whole club now performing with belief and purpose.
